Lakes High Vist

On the 11 September Mokoia Intermediate went up to Lakes High. I was in a group of 13 that had Thomas and Henry which made that group cool. My favourite activity was pirates which was first up for our group. We played it in the gym. You have all these obstacles like trampolines, rope swings and other gymnastic stuff.
Another fun one was cooking where you made chocolate moulds and then set the chocolate ready to eat and biscuits that you dipped into melted chocolate and then into 100's and 1000's. That was really yum.
Science was also really cool. We got 7 different chemicals and burnt them over top of a Bunsen burner. They all burned a different colour and some of the chemicals we burnt were used for fireworks. We had other activites like maths, drama and music which I didnt enjoy as much.
In maths we went on a treasure hunt and in the end we got a small packet of fruit bursts. In drama we made masks and read out a script holding our maskes up to our face.
In music we sat and watched some musicians play and sing to us. They are very telented and I enjoyed listening to them.
Over all it was a really fun day and I can’t wait to play pirates again.

Devon Intermediate Exchange

On monday 2nd of September Devon Intermediate came up from New Plymouth to Mokoia Intermediate. We played rugby, netball, soccer and basketball. They arrived at 3:30 and went with the people billiting them. I didnt have a billite. The billites then went out with the familys to do something fun and stay the night there. The next morning we welcomed them into our school with a haka porwhiri. Straight after we started with the games. First up was the mixed Basketball which I played in. It was a really good game and we won 68-26. While the basketball was going on so was the Yr 8 b netball team. I didnt really watch that game but they won 28-12. Girls soccer played next which we also won 1-0. Year 8 netball played next and won39-8. Boys soccer played and won 2-1. Then there was rugby. We were trampled like insects and lost 68-23. In the end we won 6 out of 7 games which is really cool. Today the billites left back to New Plymouth. We all said our farewells. It was pritty sad saying good bye because I will never see them again. Overall it was a great excperiance and I would love to do it if I ever have the chance.
